Re: CeraKote, DuraCoat, any interest in...
I'd probably have an AK Reciever done. My finish is wearing off my century AK pretty quickly.

That 1911 frame and slide I brought to you for advice a year or so ago has still not been built. This year it WILL get built and I'll probably want a new finish on it. If you have the setup, I'll bring it to you to have it done.

I am probably going to get into it. Right now I'm researching blasting cabinets and the drying/curing oven. The balsting cabinet isn't to hard to find, but the curing oven is another matter. I'm limited in space so I need to find one that won't take up a lot of room.

I would also be interested, and you aren't too far from me and actually you're right on the way when I go to visit my family in Clearfield. I vote yes, I will send you my Ruger barrel and action! Maybe the wifes gun too when she gets one.

Build your own from an old school locker with some insullation, heating element, and thermostat. School locker stands upright so you can hang a barreled receiver, and it won't take up as much room. There's probably plans somewhere on line.
Definately get something you can do barrel length stuff with.
If you pull this off, you'll save me the headache of pissing my wife off immensly when she finds out I tried to cure some parts in our kitchen oven.
There's a guy that has a blast cabinet near your house and he routinely leaves his garage door open. Just sayin'.Last edited by arrrrgh15; January 31st, 2011 at 06:16 PM.

I'd be interested in CeraKote. I've got a Remington 1100 with the factory "Express" finish that rusts at the mere hint of humidity.

Hopefully Xringshooter has made some progress?????
I have a 1911 that I will need a few upgrades for before end of summer. It'd be nice if I could have you make the mods and coat the frame.

I had not thought of building my own out of a locker. Pretty feasible idea. Insulate it good and use a heat lamp or two and that should heat it to the right temperature and the footprint is fairly small (will fit in the breezeway easily). The blast cabinet is getting real close, I got a flyer from Harbor Freight with one of theirs on sale, plus I'll be in Harrisburg this weekend so I could go to the store and look at it. I will let everyone know when I'm ready.
