Default Thoughts/Opinions on Beretta PX4 Storm?

Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts and/or opinions on the Beretta PX4 Storm? I have been reading some reviews and they seem to be favorable, and I was just watching a program on TV and they seem to say good things, so now I want opinions from "real" people (if you know what I mean).

I don't have this gun, but I have been considering it, so if you bash it I will not be offended.

    Thanks in advance.

Search. There was a thread about the compact no more than 4 or 5 days ago.

I have shot about 100 rounds through one so I can tell you what I think. It's decently ergonomic but the overall width of the gun is too thick. I don't like the spinning breach (whatever its called) design. It's accurate and reliable. I absolutely hate the decocker safety. It has a very sharp edge on it which makes actuating it and racking the slide painful after the first couple times. DA trigger is long of course, but SA couldve been more crisp. Overall it's a good pistol and fairly priced, but I think there are beter designs out there which is why I don't own one. All of the above is just my humble opinion of course and worth every penny you paid for it

The Beretta Px4 Storm was my first gun, but I've since parted ways with it.

My problem wasn't specifically with the Px4, but rather the more I learned and the more I trained I came to dislike the DA/SA trigger system in general. Otherwise I was pleased with the ergonomics, the reliability, the quality, and the aesthetics of the gun.

I generally try to steer all newer shooters away from DA/SA guns. If however you've decided that you are a fan of that setup, I wouldn't hesitate to suggest you look at the Px4 Storm.

I've had mine for several months now. Overall, I like it. It is chunky, but feels good in the hand and is very reliable. The sites are not the best, I am replacing mine. I have read a lot about finish issues, and I too have a slight blem near the rear site. Unlike another poster, I really like decocker safety, I prefer them over trying to carry say a 1911 cocked and loaded. I'm not sure if it is the sites, but the gun is not very accurate currently. I first thought it was me, but I am convinced after a few hundred rounds it's the cheap sites - the gun use to come with better sites but I heard they had issues with them so replaced them with standard cheap sites. I think once the new sights are on it it will be perfect. Take a look at it in .40 cal too, looks nice

It's probably the worst gun Beretta's ever made, and Beretta knows it.

The rotating barrel system is just more complicated and unique than necessary, and it likes to lock up.

If you want a Beretta, get a 92FS. If you want the best DA/SA gun you can get, get an HK. The PX4's are just mediocre, and there's not much of a good reason to select them over numerous other options.

The gun's very well made and the sub compact does not use a rotating barrel.

I thought about how to word this in a way that did not sound like a jerk, but you did such a good job of it, I'll just add "talk about overthinking a system that already works well." HK's are outstanding, end of story.

Oh, well if you are saying that it's very well made...then I'm sure it must be true.

These guys here probably don't know what they're talking about, then.
