It was really bad. Did you catch the statement that it was "George Bush and the Congress" that let it lapse? George Bush didn't have a thing to do with not reinstating this law, silly gooses. The original legislation had a sunset date, and there was never any legislation to continue it ever forwarded for George to sign. Just another plug for the Democrats, and their Anti-Bush, Anti-gun agenda.

I wonder how many of the 50 murders in Miami were committed with rifles that would not have qualified as an "assault weapon" under the old law? Unless all of those victims were bayonetted using those damn bayonet lugs, I'd like to see what it is that they said were the murder weapons. I'll bet they never recovered or even have witnesses that have seen the murder weapon up close in 10% of the cases, and just call anything that looks like a semi-auto rifle, an assault weapon.

This is why I only watch Foxnews for fair and balanced reporting or read www.drudgereport.com. CNN, CBS, ABC, NBC et al all are left leaning anything for ratings drama shows. I turn them off and tune them out. They are irrelevant so I am not going to watch and get ticked off. And they wonder why thier ratings are in the pooper.....

See, they got you too . . . . and you didn't even realize it. The whole piece was constructed to give you that impression, without actually saying anything at all about the murder rate due to "assault weapons".

Watch it again. What they really said was that there were 50 assault weapons seized (i.e. confiscated) in 2007 and that was an increase over the 10 that were seized in 2006. I doubt that one person in a hundred heard it that way. The majority of the viewing audience will remember it as 50 assault weapon murders and there is no doubt that the narration and the editing were presented that way on purpose, for precisely that effect.

Think about it this way, what story would they have had if they had honestly stated that in a city of 400,000 people, they have confiscated 50 semi-auto rifles so far this year? No story at all, obviously.

Then they would have to go out and actually do some real investigative reporting for a change, but I don't think I'll hold my breath on that one.

Every cop there has seen an "Assualt Rifle" on thier rounds. Even they don't know what an "Assault Weapon" is. Here we go again. Think I'll go buy some more "CLIPS" (That was for emptymag. See if he catches it) for my AK before I can't get them anymore.
