Ruger Six Speed .38
Hey All,
Looking for some people's opinions on the price of a 1982-83 .38 Ruger six-speed blued 2" barrel. It's in great condition. Maybe put 700 rounds through it. I have a holster to include with the firearm. I was thinking with the holster $400 is reasonable?

That is pretty close to what they go for on gunbroker. The hard part is finding someone local that wants to buy it. Take some good pics and post it up in the classifieds!!!

Re: Ruger Six Speed .38
claypigeon, does it actually say .38 Special on the right side of the barrel? Also, the barrel length will be 2 3/4". What type of holster is included? What type of grips are on it? A .38 won't bring quite the same money as a .357 Mag (due to the .357's versatility) but if it is in very good to excellent condition, and depending on the make of the holster, it should sell pretty easily. These guns are strong as an ox and I wouldn't hesitate in putting +P ammo through one. I might even be interested (I collect Ruger DA revolvers, I only have 15 so far).

Re: Ruger Six Speed .38
Well , a blued Speed Six in .38 is a desirable piece , and auction prices constantly surprise me , but a blued Speed Six , in absolute like new condition with box and papers might fetch $400 retail. The original box and papers add more value than a holster. Otherwise I'd bet ya probably wouldn't get offered more than $200 if ya walked into a gunshop to try and sell it.
Recently saw a LNIB stainless 9mm Speed Six for for $359 OTD after sitting a long time tagged at $399.I don't speak English , I talk American!

Yes 38 special
I measured 2". I also thought 2.75 & 6" was standard. But found a site that said speed six's also came in 2" for limited time.

Re: Ruger Six Speed .38
Why don't you put it here in the classifieds before putting it on consignment? For one thing, you won't have to pay any consignment fees, which can be as much as 20% or more and a lot more people will see it here as compared to a walk in shop. If someone not in the immediate area wants it you usually charge them the shipping fee (or split the cost).
