    Default Front TFO Loose on a Glock... I Can't seem to Fix it...

    I have a Glock 19 that has TFOs on it, and the front sight wiggles. I've tried tightening it, I've tried varying amounts of Loktite, no dice. It's making me crazy. It wiggles back and forth, right to left. Any ideas? I'm starting to think it's just a poorly machined piece of junk... Here's a technical diagram to give you a visual;

    Any ideas? I'm getting to the point where I'm gonna find out how well super glue bonds to a Tenifer finish...

    Perhaps this should have gone in gunsmithing, but I figured I'd get a better response here.

    I just installed a set of these on a customer's Glock 29 with no issues. You may want to find the itty bitty (technical term) lock washers to insert before you put the locking the sight in place. I use them on pivot pins as shims but may work in this situation.

    Default TFO Loose on Glock

    Is it a factory install? Where did you procure this WPOS? I'll give you $25Ř for it (LOL), even if it is 'worthless' to ya! L1S1

    I'm guessing:

    1. The sight doesn't fit flush on top of the slide. It should fit flush (no rocking or wobble) before you even put the screw in.
    2. The threads are stripped
    3. The threads on the screw are to long or the tapped screw hole in the sight is too short or has something stuck in it keeping the screw from tightening enough.

    Be sure to use loctite. (I prefer the blue)

    In addition to what Hawk mentioned.

    Does the piece on the sight that fits in the slot on the slide stick down past the bottom of the slide? If it does that would prevent the screw from holding the sight down properly. Also are you using a good front sight tool/socket? (Not slipping)

    I am using a proper sight tool. The washer idea sounds like fun. Where in the world would I find lock washers that small?

    Nothing apperas to be stripped and the sight does sit flush...

    A gun smith has the washers, or you can make them out of a soda can. Try to measure the thickness of the slide where the sight goes, and measure the distance between where the nut stops turning on the sight (with the sight off) and the base of the sight. If the latter is greater (this is going to be in hundredths), then you will need to cut an extra thread or two on the sight, if you do not want to use the washers. This is if you are sure the sight sits square on the slide.
