just by some small chance I'll be on the market for an M1A / M14 and would like to know a good deal from a bad deal and who seems to have the lowest prices online and store fronts?

pffft!! lol good luck with that.. "lowest" is a relative word when it comes to M1A/M14's. I think your starting window will be the $1500 to $1800 range, prices heading up from there.

That's for the SA's. The ones from Fulton Armory start at around $2000 & go up. They're nice, but kinda' pricey.

Try Elk Co. Ammo and Arms in St. Marys. 814-834-9318. They always have a variety of M1As and sell them on GB. I was in there a couple weeks ago and saw five M1As of various flavors on the rack. Did not pay attention to prices.

Before Taxes lowest around here for a plain jane m1a is $1280-ish.
and they just go up from there depending on how much of an 'operator' you are.

Having spent $$$ years ago on a 'loaded' NM gun , If I could have done it over again I would have spent $700 less and gotten a Vector or PTR91 HK clone.

CMP has Service Grade M1 Garands for $595. They're sorta' the father of the M14.

The Norc's have the strongest receiver of all the M1A/M14's, but their "guts" are kinda soft. The thing to do is get the Norc gun and replace the internals with US parts.
