S&W Model 36-10
I have a question concerning a S&W Model 36. After dry firing the revolver with snap caps the trigger stopped retracting back to the starting position. Does anyone know what part of the action mechanism controls this. Any opinions/suggestions....Thanks

Its called the rebound spring. Someone "may" have put a reduced power spring in it... Or the rebound slide could be stuck?
You will have to remove the sideplate to see what is going on. You will need a special hollow ground screw driver to take the 3 screws out, and then tap the grip handle with the handle of the screwdriver and the side plate will pop off. Never pry!Last edited by allglock; December 29th, 2010 at 10:41 AM.

Here is a generic schematic. It is #40, and #69.
