My P16 slide won't lock back after i fire the last round, I thought maybe the rounds weren't cycling it all the way but even sometimes pulling it back by hand it won't catch. suggestions?

did you try different magazines? Maybe the mag spring isn't putting enough upward pressure on the slide stop.

Had this happen with a Sig Saur before. Good luck.

Can you post pic of slide stop area with mag in/out, and pic of mag follower area?

Have there been any modifications to the gun, like a buffer?

This would be the place to start. Weak mag springs cause timing issues. Slide is moving forward before the follower can engage the slide stop. Change the magazine springs.

    Check your extractor.
It might be out of spec or bent

    Look at your followers.

Look at the halve that is below that actually catches the slide catch after the last round.

Is it in spec? Bent? different?

I went through 7 different mags of different manufactur till I found one that worked 100%.

Extractor should have no bearing on slide lock back that I can figure......

The big double stack mags can take some tweaking to get the follower up high enough. They should still lock back until you stuff TWO buffs in there....

Check the slide stop/take down pin tab - it's probably either worn down or broken off. It it isn't there, the notch in the magazine follower can't engage it.
