Funny, I just thought of that one yesterday. Haven't been back there since I was I kid. Sorta grew up in Jefferson and used to do bike rides out to there.

Took a IDPA or IPSC class out there many years ago. That one's a haul for me, too.

I just cannot decide!

One of the Jefferson clubs seem to be best for my local and they both have an indoor range for winter plinking. May have to take a tour of each.

Just to update and of course a thank you to all that chimed for their tips on where to shoot.

I finally decided to join the Jefferson Rifle Club. Went Tuesday evening to the meeting and was announced as a new probationary member. My Dad even decided to go along and joined as well.

I liked that it was close to home, no silly rules about where you have to stand or how many rounds max per mag/weapon and the price was right. They also have some of the cowboy shoots there and I have to admit they're just fun to watch. My Dad did it years ago.

Sounds like they have some interesting other shoots, too. Shotgun slug bowling?? That's right, bowling pins and shotgun slugs. 2 slugs per frame for 5 frames and normal bowling rules. That one sounds like a hoot!!

Dad and I plan on helping to set up for the next cowboy shoot as well.

Do me a favor and give me a heads up if you plan on going out one evening or week end. I can't go in by myself as a probie member and need a member to take me in.

I'm looking to possibly join this club as well. Any updates as to your experiences since you and your dad joined? Are you able to shoot your 12ga there? Im over in East York, but this sounds like a pretty nice club. Thanks for the info!

The only bitch I have is that there is a 3 month probation period before being voted in as a member. I have sneaked in a couple of times to test some reloads, but have not gone in and did any long range time. Not sure what they would say if I was approached and there by myself as a probie. I'm sure it would be frowned upon.

I get voted in the end of this month, then get a key to the clubhouse and grounds.

I love that there are no stupid ass range rules like most other clubs and that it's less than 10 minutes from my home.

When are they planning to have shotgun bowling? And would that be open to non-members? That sounds it would be almost as much fun as cowboy shooting, but much cheaper. Can't afford cowboy guns at the moment.

I honestly don't recall, but I believe it's late in the year.

I'll inquire at the next meeting, when/if I'm voted in.
