Default What Plate Carrier do you rock?

Recently picked up AR500 Level 3 front and back plates. Now looking for the right plate carrier.

A quick google search reveled a lot of AirSoft "experts" on what carrier is best. I am sure the Call of Duty set will also have some fascinating insights with all their real world experience.

I am looking to find out what members here own / use / like.

Pics appreciated! Also wondering what color?

(And yes, I did google this question on the forum...damn google 404 error message. So don't freakin' crucify me if this as already asked. Just redirect me...)

    5.56 cuts right through them.

I picked up a Banshee carrier when they had that crazy sale awhile back. I have the double ITW G hook modification in the shoulder pads so I can actually shoot with it on.

Has two level IV ceramic plates in it, and just a few BFG pouches. I can actually use it a lot more now I'm inna da woods for regular practice. I highly suggest not buying this stuff and then throwing it in a closet, it's a whole other thing.....

Also it's a great fitness or lack of tester. I'm so soft from years of jockeying a computer for work and sitting on my ass that thing fucks me all up.

Oh well, time to toughen up!

It's OK, AKs can't get through them. Both 5.45 and 7.62x39.

They got through with 16" barrels and XM193 in other tests.

At what range were you hoping to get protection from plates at your house? 200 yards? Or 30 feet?

Did you see a 3A backing test?

There are stand alone plates and there are in conjunction plates. These are stand alone.

BTW, the NIJ test standards do not include 5.56. They include 7.62x39, 7.62x51, 5.45x39, and "also protects against lesser calibers."

5.56 is not a "lesser caliber."

I'm no armor expert but I've come to learn that if you want to stop 5.56 or better it will either weight a great deal or cost big money. That being said I chose DKX IIIA pistol only armor and bought a Condor carrier. Maybe if I'm engaged by rifles I'll be able to run for cover.
