WOLF: Anyone Actually Have Problems?
I always read statements stating..."don't buy Wolf, it's bad", or, "it will destroy your barrel and chamber", or, "it doesn't feed reliably".
I have shot 10's of thousands of rounds of Wolf through a RobArms XCR, Stag 20", Stag 16", J&T bull barrel AR, J&T AR pistol, ZM lr300, Sig 556, etc. I have never seen a problem, literally not one. Wear? I don't see any noticeable wear in any of the guns. Of the guns listed, there have literally been zero malfunctions of any kind.
I clean the guns often (though my XCR has had close to 5000 rounds of WOLF through it without cleaning it), and all of the Wolf has been the newer stuff. So why are people STILL telling others to avoid Wolf (as in the other thread on this page)?
It's as simple as this: Wolf is dirty. Take care of your AR's and clean them. AR's are dirty guns. You won't have any problems with Wolf ammo (though I have read that mixing cheap brass with the Wolf "might" cause problems, so clean it after the WOLF is used). Don't believe the hype that running Wolf will destroy your gun. It won't.Last edited by itstock; November 25th, 2007 at 11:29 AM.

Re: WOLF: Anyone Actually Have Problems?
a great man once said "the day my AR doesn't shoot wolf, is the day I put a skirt on it." (or something like that)
I've never had a problem and i've shot around 5K of wolf, mostly 7.62x39 but a couple K of .223 and no problems besides maybe a little dirty, but either way i'm gonna clean my gun after i shoot it so wtf do i care if its a tad dirtier?

Re: WOLF: Anyone Actually Have Problems?
It is dirty...it's also a hotter round. I do shoot Wolf 7.62x39 in SKS and AK rifles. I also shoot 9mm through my Glock on occasion.
I bought a 1000 rounds of 9 mm Wolf. I wish I'd bought Seiler & Beilot instead, but the Wolf was cheaper.

Re: WOLF: Anyone Actually Have Problems?
This is comforting, since I'm planning my first AR build.
Likely going with a Stag lower/16" barrel.
I had asked elsewhere if my choice to use Wolf ammo would affect what brands of parts I use in the build... no response yet.I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

Re: WOLF: Anyone Actually Have Problems?
nope, none.
it's all i feed to my ar, and only occasinally clean it.
the ak obviously gets it, and never gets cleaned.
a couple of revolvers get it in .45auto.
and a couple of m1 carbines get it, when i can find it.
never an issue.it's only metal, we can out think it....

Re: WOLF: Anyone Actually Have Problems?
mine eats wolf just fine. I think if you fire it fully auto for long time, heat may have adverse effect on laquer on case, may cause an issue, but as far as shooting semi-auto, i don't think its gonna be an issue.
I personally never seen anyone with issue with it, although I hear many people says not to

Re: WOLF: Anyone Actually Have Problems?
New stuff no longer uses laquer.....it's a polymer coat of some sort.
I taught Chuck Norris to bump-fire.
