food discounts/free coffee? often?
OK,, so your out OC'ing,, how often do you get a cup of coffee and the store tries to give it to you thinking your a cop?? Was at a sports bar(havent been there in 6-7 years) a few weeks back grabbing a quick lunch with the wife and the manager stopped at our table and said it was nice to have us in there and if we need anything just ask him.. I thought it was odd he was very friendly.. and talking to me not to the both of us.. We had our meal and the assistant manager also came over to thank us for coming in and its nice to see us in there..?? We got the check and I paid it,, left a good tip,, kept adding it up in my head I thought the price was a little light. like 20%?
As we left my wife mentioned to me to fix my sweatshirt.. it had ridden up and hung up over my grip.. The sweater I was wearing was an old one as I was doing some work at the shop and it was a touch small.. so I was basically OC'ing,, by not concealing well.. I OC when I'm near home but I was down near work and usually CC down there..
She thinks they thought I was a cop and gave me a discount,, which would explain the extra attention too..
So down near civilization where OC isnt as common, does that happen when OC'ing and how do you handle letting people know your not if they dont actually ask,, and yes I know I should have been better at CC but I was in my work clothes and since OC is legal I wasnt to worried about a slip up.. and with all the layers for cold weather,, its hard to tell your exposed with out reaching back.. I dont touch it unless it feels loose.. I dont fondle in public..
Sorry its long..

I've never gotten anything but hassled for OC'ing, though most people do assume I'm a cop.
I want a shirt that says "No. I'm not a Cop."

My next cop coffee will be my first. FWIW, only a blind man would think I was a cop, although I am repeatedly accused of being a constable.
While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

I have gone places with LEOs, and gotten offered the "cop coffee" and they were not, ironically.
However, the LEO wasn't in uniform, and refuses to OC.I'm so fast, I can bump fire a bolt action.

Re: food discounts/free coffee? often?
I've gotten Cop Coffee a number of times but didn't realize it. The last time I tried to clear it up but the hot girl insisted. It hasn't happened in almost a year and I won't let it happen again unless some stupid kid behind the register turns it into an issue that I don't have time to deal with.
A few weeks ago I was at the Dunkin Donuts below Cabellas on 61 and they had a sign that Cop Coffee was free for cops every Tuesday (?) in November.
"One burger, it's for a cop"
"Don't spit in that cop's burger"
"Roger, one burger, hold the spit!"

Well hells bells, I always wave @ the Cop behide the wheel. As for buying a coffee for an enlisted person or a Cop on that is on the beat, that's between me and my GOD.
Pony-up.Live well and prosper.

Hey, maybe he DIDN"T think you were LEO. Maybe the place has pro-gun management and they just appreciate a guy exercising his 2nd A rights.
