PICS Problems
I am new to the forum and will try to keep this brief.
We ordered a T/C Hot Shot 22 for my daughter for Christmas online and had it shipped to our local FFL. We went to get it Dec 14 which was crazy time. When we started our Gunbroker acct it was in my wife's name so we just let her pick it up in her name. She's never even had a parking ticket. Imagine our surprise when she came back delayed, but our FFL assured us it was because of the Sandy Hook shooting. Then he said something about common last name, which we don't have, but her maiden name is very common, like top 5. So we wait for the resolution, which never comes, and Christmas comes and goes, my 9 yo's rifle locked in the FFL's safe. Dec 29 comes, no response from PICS, so delay becomes automatic denial.
Jan 3 we send her challenge form in certified. Received Jan 8. Never hear anything, leave a message at PICS, nothing. PSP site says they must respond within 5 days of a properly executed challenge. So we send a second challenge certified again on Jan 25, this time with the return postcard. Signed for Jan 28. As of today, nothing. No calls, no letters, no nothing. The law says they have 5 days to respond, who do I report them to, the PSP? They are the ones not reporting, so it's not like they are going to do anything to themselves.
I am really at a loss as to what to do next. I don't want to have to pay a lawyer to force the PSP to do what we paid them to do by paying the PICS fee. I personally think they are just so backed up that they just have not bothered to look at her file. Of course, this is unacceptable.
Do we wait? Do we try to contact someone else? Since then we did manage to find two other Hot Shots which I purchased, but we still have the one sitting in this safe that is paid for doing us no good whatsoever. We both want to get a LTCF and a handgun, so we are just waiting like a hockey puck for this to be settled.
Suggestions?

Re: PICS Problems
I agree and we aren't doing anything until this PICS thing gets straightened out. The problem is no one at PICS will even acknowledge us. This Friday will be 2 months since she originally tried to pick up the gun and the only thing we've heard was from our FFL - delayed, then 15 day denial. Two certified challenges and a phone call haven't gotten anything from PICS/PSP. They just ignore her. It's pretty frustrating - can't wait to overload the PICS system if the private sale check passes.

Re: PICS Problems
I've never heard of anything like this, and I've been dealing with PICS pretty much full-time for over a dozen years. They have always returned calls, and always responded to challenge forms. Sometimes it takes a while for other agencies to respond to them, and they can't resolve an issue within the allotted time because the department that reported your felony arrest never reported your acquittal or dismissal, but PICS always responds to challenge forms. Did you send the challenge form to the correct address? What number did you call to leave the message?
If you want to scan your challenge form and the 2 green receipt cards and email them to me, I can take a look. Something sounds a bit off here.Attorney Phil Kline, AKA gunlawyer001@gmail.com

Re: PICS Problems
I agree. Maybe time to put together the GunLawyer PAFOA Appreciation Award , and get him dinner for 2 at a nice restaurant somewhere.
GunLawyer, I haven't personally needed your help yet, but I have seen you help many a member with little thought for compensation. I was brought up to believe that a mans actions are the true indicator of the type of person you are, as words can be misconstrued or misunderstood. I believe your actions in helping your fellow forum members speaks loud enough. Thank you for all the advice and time you've contributed here.
