Taurus PT 745c - NYC serial number prefix?

Hey All!

Anyone have any clue as to the relevance of the NYC prefix on my PT745c?
I'm thinking it might be part of a precinct buy in NYC or
something but I suppose it could just be coincidence. Would be cool to know though

Picked it up today as the price couldn't be beat. Defenately has some carry wear but doesn't look like it's seen much shooting (I had seen some with frame cracks in the past so I checked for that first thing, plus as the price was so low I expected to find something wrong - I really couldn't, some scuff on polymer, blue finish wearing but inside looks purrrty still)

I feel like I just got a Kahr PM45 for a fraction of the price, I just have next to zero experience with Taurus. Anyone care to offer some insight on if this was a wise purchase or not?

Oh - also, does anyone know if this is rated for +P or not? I'm not having a great deal of luck with google - Thanks!

Don't know about the NYC,

frame cracks were more prelevent in the PT145 (it's double stack brother),

yes it is +P rated, but will wear quicker (as does everything else shooting +P)

a PT745 was my first carry gun, never had a problem with it
