    Default Winchester Model 12 Value?

I have a Winchester Model 12 in 16ga that I am trying to find a value for. I have looked around and the prices of these guns go from $250 to $1000. Mine is a standard model with a 28" barrel SN: 582xxx. I would say it is in good condition. Any input would be great. Thanks

from the looks of the serial number - it appears a 1929 manufacture.
The value really is a crap shoot. Depending on the colletor, model, condition, etc. the value really can vary that much.
I would put yours in the 300-500 range if I had to guess, without pics and without much info.

recent auctions put these guns at about $200-250. pre-1927 guns have 2 9/16" chambers and need modifications for standard shells, or short shells that can be bought by the case reasonably.

model 12 have slidden in price in the last 20 years as those men who considered them to be the standard against which everything else have passed on.

i bought a 1926 16 ga with factory 26" modified choke and extensive mother of pearl inlays for less than $200 last year. the real value of these guns is the fact that the 16s are built on 20 gauge frames and can still fire 1 1/8 oz shot loads in a light and very handy package with a shorter barrel.

$300-500 depending on condition. $500 for a 90 percent plus gun...
