Grey frame CZ-85?
Just got a CZ "Model 85".
I'm wondering if a grey frame is a common occurance???

I've already contacted CZ-USA, and they could not explain and didn't know such a thing existed, because the firearm was imported by "PW Arms".
Can anyone provide background?
Thanks

Re: Grey frame CZ-85?
If anything , It looks like the slide was painted/ refinished...and maybe it used to be a stainless finish gun.
Edit: Looks like the combat dual tone: http://cz-usa.com/products/view/cz-85-combat/Last edited by CHEMICAL; December 15th, 2010 at 09:31 PM.

Re: Grey frame CZ-85?
I like it...I think it is one very fine looking pistol. I want to get the slide on my G19 done in silver or chrome....

Re: Grey frame CZ-85?
I have a 85 combat on layaway and I'm just itching to bring her home. I'm trying to get the wife to pick it up and have it under the tree for me but I don't see it happening. Anyway, as far as I know, CZ only made the 85 combat in duo tone which makes your CZ interesting.
Does your model have a firing pin block?
CZ-75B and 85B with "B" in the model name indicates the model has a firing pin block whereas the Combat model has no block. What's interesting is in order to get the Combat to pass the "point" system for US import, the adjustable sights were necessary since CZ did away with the firing pin block on the 85 Combat.
Does your model have the ambidextrous safety and ambidextrous slide release? These two are standard on the Combat model and the 85B.
The Combat also has the non-ambi mag release, (newer CZ models like the stainless 75Bs, the P01 also have this) and an adjustable trigger for over-travel.
The Combat came with a straight mag brake, (allowing drop free mags) and an extended mag release as well.
I'd be really interested in hearing more about your model after you get a chance to check the above. Also, what is the red lettering on the side of the slide?

Re: Grey frame CZ-85?
Currently it's in the 7 day quarrantine in MD. Hopefully it will be under the tree for Christmas.
The CZ is a "MODEL 85"
The red paint is over the "Model 85" and the serial number lettering. This was the odd ball in the entire batch, all I know this batch was a bunch of police trade-ins. My neighbor picked up the similar one, without the red lettering. The rest of the batch were blued.

Re: Grey frame CZ-85?
It's definitely a custom job. None of the other CZ's have a hammer like that...that I can see.
except the airsoft version: http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/?filn...1st_review.htmLast edited by CHEMICAL; December 16th, 2010 at 01:54 PM.

Re: Grey frame CZ-85?
This is an older Model 85, made in 1989. The spur hammer is common.
