Re: Inexpensive night sights for Sigs?
I'm looking to put some on my 229, opticsplanet seem like a good deal but they stated that sights for the 229 is a special order (means more money) I might just get some from Sig Directly (100$)

You mean like these?
http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/cid=2...6-Front-Sights
These are front sights only, which is what I prefer. I see no need for two additional glow in the dark vials on the rear sight which is of little importance to your focus.
I am not sure which size your front sight is, Sig has a #6 and #8 and you will have to figure that out. However, the above are around 45 bucks.
I prefer tritium in the front sight only, as it works well for me. We are only supposed to focus on the front sight anyway, so in low and failing light it has been effective for my uses.Join the groups protecting your rights from the fools trying to take them from you!

Re: Inexpensive night sights for Sigs?
I find myself agreeing more and more with the front sight only option. I have a Glock that has green TFOs front and back. I like them, they're bright in almost any light, but green on green can be very, very confusing, especially under stress. I'd say stick with contrasting colors or a front sight only.
Selling off a a sizeable Spyderco collection here

Re: Inexpensive night sights for Sigs?
I had a 229 I was going to send to Sig for their 'once over' I think it was $124 for a check-up and spring replacement plus Sig night sights installed. Didn't seem too bad a price. Wound up selling it but I may send a 228 I just got to them for the treatment. It has TruGlo's on it and I'm not sure if I like them yet.
