Default Beaver County Sheriff to sign off?

So I've been told countless times that if I want to manufacture an SBR I should get the county Sheriff to sign off on me. My question is who in specific should I ask for? Should I ask for George J. David, or just any of the local deputys? Thanks

The Sheriff himself, as the Chief Law Enforcement Officer, is who you need. Not one of his deputies. The only time one of his subordinates(Undersheriff) can sign is when they are Acting Sheriff due to the sheriff's incapacitation.

If you live in a municipality with a Chief of Police, he or she could sign for you too.

Just to be clear, a CLEO can delegate the authority to sign Form 1s and Form 4s to a subordinate.
News to me.. Last I recall was a ATF letter stating otherwise, to which as I had explained. But God knows how long ago that opinion was made.

When I did my SBR build I just went to my local police chief....heck of a lot easier getting an audience where you live than trying to get one with the Sheriff.

Now how would that work for zoning? I'm looking to get my Type 7 FFL (manufacturers license). Would we have to rezone for a business?

Save a bunch of headache and do a trust or LLC, no signatures, no fingerprints, no photos, No one but you and the BATFE know anything.

This is the way to go! Through their ignorance they will not know what is in their jurisdiction!

Do you guys have any trust lawyers you would advise? I'm not even sure how to begin to put up a trust.

If you cant get a personal sign-off, an LLC is the safer route. Gunlawyer001 has pointed it out a few times how a trust could be a bad thing. However, personal sign-offs are the best option if you can get a signature.
