Gift ideas
Hey all, I am looking to buy my father a handgun maybe a rifle for Christmas. I would like to keep it under $600 but I could take it up to $700 if needed. He mostly likes all metal guns so I probably won't be looking at the polymers. Thanks, I know you guys will have some good suggestions.

Re: Gift ideas
He probably really doesn't want one so please buy ME one for Christmas!
It's tough not knowing what he has, might like or might use it for. I just saw a nice Sig 239 in .40 with some trigger work for $550. Brand new Italian Inox Beretta's can be had for about $550 as well. There are some nice wheel guns in that price range too.
I built my dad a Mossberg 500 for under the tree but he wanted a shotgun for HD. I built an 870 as well but I think the Mossberg is what he'll prefer.
Wide open there, good luck with your choice!

Re: Gift ideas
S&W Victory revolver should fall in that price range.
Another sugguestion would be a 1917 .45 ACP revolver with half moon clipsThe oracle is in. Age and treachery will always overcome youth and skill!!

Uberti 1873 Cattleman 45... Might want to check to see if your father would want a gun with adjustable sights. Unfortunately the Cattleman don't have them, otherwise they are nice guns. They come in different barrel lengths and colors (nickel and an old time finish). Just notice on gunbroker, this one here is a really good price if you would want one with a 4 3/4 barrel... http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=205798575

Re: Gift ideas
Can pick up a Webley Mk IV in 38 S&W or a Victory in either 38 S&W or 38 Special. Or can find a Webley Mk VI cut for 0.45 ACP for around 600. Dave_n

Re: Gift ideas
How about a GI style 1911 like a springfield or RIA.
Maybe not so WWII, but how about a Beretta 92fs?

Re: Gift ideas
If he likes WWII guns, find him a US M1 .30 Carbine, get fun to shoot and a piece of history.
If he likes small bore shotguns, get him one that will challenge his abilities, get him a 28 guage, believe me they are a ball to shoot and you really have to remember all the basics.Ron USAF Ret E-8 FFL01/SOT3 NRA Benefactor Member
