Wife's getting me a pistol for Christmas - What should I get?

The wife told me she wants to get me a pistol for Christmas, but she told me beforehand because she has no idea which one to get me. I've got a million guns on my list of what I wanted... but when she asked me, my mind went blank. I'm not sure what her budget is, but I'd like to stay under $6-700. I figured I'd ask you guys in case you threw out something that I wasn't thinking of or slipped my mind.

I have enough Glocks, revolvers, and 1911s. So any other suggestions?

I've been eyeing up a Ruger Charger for a while at the fun store. Cheap to shoot and uses all your 10/22 stuff (if you have one (if not, get that)).

How about a nice SIG or S&W or H&K? The .380 SIGs should be well below your estimated price point, so would an M&P. You could get a nicely used P7 in that range. How about a historical gun like a Luger, P38, PP(K)? I would say a historical 1911 or a Webley, Colt/S&W DA revolorver but you aren't interested in those. Ruger makes some nice semi's, as does Beretta. I assume you want a handgun since this is in the Pistols section. If not, repost on the longguns boards and get some great responses there as well. Regardless, good luck with what you get!

hmmmm, how about a bushmaster carbon 15 pistol? probably over your price range listed above, but it is different!

A suggestion would be one of the HK P7's that are floating around. The "regular" P7 (heel magazine release) German LEO turn ins are fantastic guns and very much different then 1911's, Glocks and revolvers. I suspect that in a few years they will be quite prized. However, I am not collector as I shoot the piss out of my guns.

How about something in .22? maybe a Walther p22 with factory laser? Makes for a great and super fun day in the field, and with the budget you mentioned, you could grab a few thousand bulk .22s to go with it!
