Moving to Waynesboro
Hey guys, my girlfriend got a new job. Soooo her and I are moving from Lancaster to Waynesboro. Looking for some ranges to check out. Where does everyone shoot? I'd be willing to drive 45 minutes or more if it's worth it.

Re: Moving to Waynesboro
Check this one out. Maybe twenty five minutes drive from W-boto. PM me and I'll take you over as guest, shoot and see.
There is also Greencastle Sportsmen, Chambersburg Rifle & Pistol, Chambersburg Rod& Gun, and one up on Blue Ridge Summit, - - - choices abound.

Welcome to the county~I don't get to Wboro too often but hear crime issues are getting worse down there but if you're from Lancaster City it'll be a walk in the park

Welcome to Waynesboro.
We just moved here a few months ago also.
As for ranges, I joined the Waynesboro Fish and Game Assn.
They have an outdoor range. I havent actually shot there yet but they seem to take pretty good care of it. Anyone can join, IIRC it is $30/year.
They also have a lake and skeet and archery ranges if that interests you.
I like it because its only about 5 miles from my house.
There's a range up in Micheaux State Forest that is free but last time I went up there it was shut down. I emailed the ranger's office to find out when they were reopening it and they said that it may not reopen, so I dont know whats going on there.

Re: Moving to Waynesboro
The Story I have heard about the range in Michaux is this. Some folks thought it would be funny to shoot up the trash cans, and lay waste to the range. It's a shame. I really enjoyed it up there.
