Hello! I always encourage fellow ladies into this wonderful world of firearms and accessories (which are many!)

A quick suggestion is to get some good books to read and there are quite a few. One most recent book I ordered is "The Cornered Cat" by Kathy Jackson - looks very good but then again i have just started reading it. Also you can go on her website by the same name if you don't want to buy the book.

Other authors: Paxton Quigley, Gila Hayes, Masaad Ayoob, Chris Bird etc

Of course this is just to help with reading info and mindset not the practical training aspect which is paramount!

Brand new here as of this afternoon. Actually, brand new to the idea of handling a handgun much less owning one. Glad to see that there's a thread for Westmoreland-ites because you'll be able to give me tips on local dealers, training and ranges. So, I'll take a deep breath, swallow hard and set about making myself a bit more secure. Because, IMHO, we're going to need the abililty to protect ourselves sooner rather than later. Looking forward to learning all that I can from "yinz".

A great place to get your feet wet, so to speak, is at the Trafford Sportsmen's Club indoor pistol range.

There are a lot of knowledgeable shooters, some of which are certified NRA instructors.

You can get a look at, and even try out, several type of handguns from 22 to 45 caliber, revolver and semi-auto.

It's only about 6 miles from Irwin, and it's open to the public.

Hello all!

Just wanted to say hi. I've lurked on here for years but never posted much.

I'm from the Penn Township area and I now live near Jeannette.

I have a love for all things firearms! I love modern weapons and I appreciate the older ones as well. I've been shooting and building AR-15's and their varients for several years as they are my personal favorite. This past year I turned my passion into a business venture on the side and started up CDS Arms, LLC to sell firearms, parts, and accessories online and local. We are also a Class 3 NFA dealer as well for suppressors, SBR's, SBS's, AOW's, etc. The business is by appointment or mail order and is located in Claridge.

Most of my business has been online accessory sales and local handgun purchases. This year however I think I am going to get into the gun show market and see how it goes. I am also looking to work with some of the local fire departments to do a gun bash, so that will be fun!

If I can help anyone out with anything at all, please ask. I'm very fluent with black rifles, NFA firearms, and others.

Xero1xero, im in washington twp. We have a shooting range at my buddy's in upper burell. We can go up to 450yd. He has 28acres so we can pretty much do what we want. Lol
