Default Looking @ 1911's? Here's a great deal of info

I never thought I would read a Glock forum. This thread contains a great deal of information that you would have to spend years searching for on the net. It seems to be unbiased and totally straight forward. After perusing the initial posts, you'll get into the real meat of the threat around post 17. Be prepared to read it carefully and digest. Lots of great info here. After digesting go back and read it again from the beginning post. GOOD STUFF, if your considering a 1911....

Be careful with 1911's, they are addictive. As seen just above post 28 (go to 28 and look up at the bottom of 27).

Below you’ll find a family picture of all my 1911s. There’s no need for a legend because they’re lined up in the exact order they appear in this guide, starting with the top left corner and working left to right, top to bottom. Enjoy.

    Thanks for your time.

    Brian

Brian has a really, really lot of 1911s. By his location he's from PA.

Obviously, 'Brian' is a newbie (who likely cannot afford a real gun such as a Taurus Judge - OK, OK I will quit it - Wrong thread, I know!)

In all honesty, that is quite an impressive collection.

IIRC, I read that same post elsewhere before, and many of those are full house customs... I wonder how much $$ is in that pic right there (I honestly wonder - I am not a 1911 guy, so I don't really know what a nice custom from a well-known maker costs).

    Regards,

    Bones

Archie Bunker: "would it make you feel better, little girl, if they was pushed outta windows?"

Very informative and well written topic. Invaluable for someone looking to buy a first 1911, given the utter array of options available in every price range.

A few of them are in the 5000 to 7000 range.

Edit: The article starts with the lower end of the range and works its way up to the 7000.00. Its well worth the time to read.
