Any suggestions? I'm looking to spend about $300.

Re: Looking for a carry pistol
Do you have something in mind? $300.00 is not a lot when looking at pistols. I would look at used stuff to begin with.
troll Free. It's all in your mind.

Re: Looking for a carry pistol
Spend some time trying out carious handguns at a local range (Classic Pistol should not be far from you and they have a great rental selection). 300 USD is a very low number for a carry pistol, yet not impossible. I would advise you save your lunch money a bit longer to buy a quality piece then ending up with problems later on.

Re: Looking for a carry pistol
surplus city guns has a good selection of used guns in the 300-400 dollar range so you may want to check them out. for 300 bucks you're not looking at getting much even in the used market. surplus city is located in feasterville and probaly less than a 45 minute drive from anywhere near philly. you'll have a much better selction to choose from if you can increase you budget to about 400 bucks, then you can start looking at a few new guns. i just paid 385 for a SW body guard in 380 w/laser from surplus city yesterday. the ruger lcp, keltec, taurus pocket 380's are all just under or just over 350 bucks and make good pocket guns.

Re: Looking for a carry pistol
One can find a used G19 for under $400 every now and then. Closer to $300 would be an S&W 910. Great little pistol for the $ from what I've read. Star makes some nice guns for the money and so does Stoeger. If you don't mind something larger, Ruger P series guns are reliable tanks.
You can never have enough horsepower or ammunition.

Re: Looking for a carry pistol
Ok, let me clarify. I'm looking for something small enough to carry, with a big enough punch. I have a G22, but I would like something smaller, maybe a revolver. I'm not picky on used guns, as long as they're in good condition. I'm just looking for ideas on reliable, yet affordable guns.

Re: Looking for a carry pistol
I would go with a Ruger LCP or a Kel tec PF9. For another hundred or so you could get a Ruger SR9c. I love mine. It's the best handgun I've ever shot. It's accuracy is better than most full size 9mm. Just my opinion.
