Default post ban ar w/ak74 style brake, can I swap it for a no-ban brake

I found a nice priced post ban upper with the 74 style brake and was wondering if it is possibe to take it off and replace with a pre-ban style brake?

Is this a legal Q or gunsmithing Q?

    Pa law:
There is no "assault weapons" laws. Never was.

    Federal law:
Assault weapons law has sunset IE: no longer exists. Null/void/expired.

There is no pre/post ban items in the eye of the law as the law has expired. IOW: The term is only descriptive in the context of features during/after the ban existed.

If it is actually perm-attached, It depends who made it. Some places pin, some solder, some weld, some pin + weld. You get the idea If pinned, it may or may not be visible.
