absolutely no loaded longguns in a vehicle unless you are exempted: LEO, military, etc.

Re: shotgun in your vehicle.
The gun and the ammo must be in separate compartments. Can be in the same case, just in a different compartment thereof.

Re: shotgun in your vehicle.
Unloaded, ammo & gun NOT in the same container (think not being able to touch each other), does NOT have to be inaccessable.

Re: shotgun in your vehicle.
So a gun rack in a truck is OK as long as the guns aren't loaded, and the ammo is separate... never realized this. Thanks for the clarification.

Re: shotgun in your vehicle.
Other posters are correct about long guns in vehicles. But here's an interesting thing about Pennsylvania law. If you pay your NFA tax, and get the tax stamp from the ATF, it's perfectly lawful to possess a short barreled shotgun, AOW, or short barreled rifle. If you have an AR-15 with a 14.5 inch barrel on it, under Pennsylvania law, it's a "firearm" for Uniform Firearms Act purposes, and you can carry it loaded in your vehicle if you have a license to carry firearms.

I'd like to see him bring it to bear before a carjacker busts a cap in his ass with his pistol. ...then if he did manage to bring it to bear and win - I'd like to see him try to avoid his new roommate "Bubba" for not fleeing since he was already in a vehicle.
Longguns are worthless within a vehicle, and if you are in a vehicle you have a means to flee before using force. Tactically and justifiably, longguns have no legit use being loaded in a vehicle.
