Dessert Eagle Opinion
I am curious as to anyone's experience or, opinion on the Dessert Eagle good or, bad? I searched but, did not see any real threads covering this topic. You never really hear any talk of them?

Re: Dessert Eagle Opinion
I've shot a couple on the past... they're nice guns! well made, shoots well.. just danged expensive! one good thing about them is that you can always use it as an effective impact (or throwing) weapon when needed... it's like 50 pounds!

Re: Dessert Eagle Opinion
As far as a huge limited capacity semi auto that is not very practical, available in .50 AE, there's not much to talk about. Except maybe it's ridiculous price and the image associated with it. It's like owning a Delorean or something, everyone likes seeing it and talking about it. Running up to you wanting to see it. Asking you to go back in time. Looks nice, but it's no Lamborghini. So I consider it a novelty firearm. .50 AE is impressive, but its not exactly a popular carry piece or anything, lmao.
Mostly browsing these days, and expanding the collection.

Re: Dessert Eagle Opinion
The gun is huge and it only carries 7+1 rounds of .50AE. It's impossible to conceal and it kicks like a mule. It's only a good idea if you live in Alaska and might possibly run into moose or griz.
The M1. Smackin' the bastards since 1932.

Re: Dessert Eagle Opinion
It is most definitely a novelty item... kinda cool to have though, if you want to have something different (if you have a lot of dispensable income/savings). Have you seen the gold-plated tiger-striped version?
THAT's the one to have if you want to be different
Another reason why people like it is because of the big fireball that it throws out off the muzzle!!

I had two of them. One in 357 and one in 44 magnum. They were both big heavy and very cool. I traded them for something that was a little more shootable.
That being said. If you want something cool to play around with, get one.troll Free. It's all in your mind.

Re: Dessert Eagle Opinion
Dessert Eagle is very tasty, especially the golden variety. Make sure to use a good marinade for maximum flavor.
Seriously though, the Desert Eagle is a huge, ungainly hand cannon that kind of defeats the point of a pistol in the traditional sense. That said, it is very cool and would make a great hunting pistol in any state which allows autoloaders to be used. Also makes a great silhouette target or bowling pin competition pistol.Any mission, any conditions, any foe at any range.
Twice the mayhem, triple the force.
Ten times the action, total hardcore.

Re: Dessert Eagle Opinion
Has anyone mentioned the BAD ASS factor of just owning and holding a DE?
Seriously though, it's not really a .... "practical handgun"... unless you're really trying to defeat body armor, or club someone. The concealability of a nice'n bling'in DE is about as high as a sawed off 12ga. or an SBR. (probably why its so BAD ASS)
