    Default Plugging holes????

I bought a pristine antique Winchester 1892 rifle.

Sad thing was the original owner mounted a tip off scope mount and in the process drilled and tapped two holes in the sideplate.
I removed the scope mount and am left with the two threaded holes.

What can I use to fill in those holes.
Allenscrews look bad and standard screws have thick heads that stand out
    badly.
Is there something I can put in those threaded holes that will leave them looking decent?

might be able to find some tiny set screws at the hardware store...sometimes with smooth backs.

Good info, I have the same issue with a Winchester 1894 I picked up recently. I suppose since it isn't original anymore I can go ahead and have it refinished but we'll see.
Thanks to all and to the OP
