    Default Fingerprinting for nonresident license

Need some help here, I took the Utah course and I need to get a print card done. Local PD won't do it. What are my options? Any help would be appreciated.

Did they give any reason as to why they won't do it?

No, just a simple "we don't do that"

That is unusual. Did you maybe tell them what it was for? I would suggest not telling them.

I would also suggest finding the nearest state police barracks. I have been told they do it there.

We offer fingerprinting services from our fingerprint techs.
utah does not require fingerprints to be done by LEO.
Only Florida requires prints to be done by LEO.

I agree that this is unusual, i had mine done by my local PD, even told them what was for (FLORIDA) and there was no charge, and the state police in media will NOT do them as of last month , suggest going back to your local PD

    FYI

I do believe Virginia does as well...

Fingerprint Based Criminal History Record Information Check

The Application Package will contain a Virginia State Police Fingerprint Card.

The applicant shall submit fingerprints on the card provided by the Virginia State Police for the purpose of obtaining the applicant's state or national criminal history record.

The Virginia State Police, Firearms Transaction Center, will submit the prints through the Central Criminal Records Exchange to the Federal Bureau of Investigation for the purpose of obtaining criminal history record information regarding the applicant and obtaining fingerprint identification information from federal records pursuant to criminal investigations by state and local law-enforcement agencies.

Upon submission of the fingerprint impressions, the applicant will be required to provide a telephone number of the law enforcement individual taking the prints to facilitate this Department’s validation of print authenticity.

Incomplete cards will be returned to the applicant for completion.

Illegible impressions will cause the cards to be returned to the applicant for re-printing purposes.

your are indeed correct. having never had a student ask for VA I did not know.

I am sticking to Utah and AZ as of now since they do not require prints from LEO.

I will give a student the necessary packets for Florida and/or Virginia now.

The student would be on their own to find a LEO Dept to do the prints. Having talked to FL legal dept. they don't want to even except prints done by a moonlighting LEO. FL is indicating prints must be administered by the LEO Agency.
