Re: can i carry at work?
Employers can set their own rules and terminate you if you break them. Not only does my company state "no weapons allowed." But they also ask on their employment application if we have a CCW. I'm not even sure if that's legal.

Re: can i carry at work?
I take it from the post you know this already, but I thought I would provide the citation for your statement.
§ 1005.10. Licensure and general operating standards.
"(h) Weapons and explosives. Weapons and explosives may not be worn by ambulance personnel or carried aboard an ambulance. This subsection does not apply to law enforcement officers who are serving in an authorized law enforcement capacity. "
from the Pa Code concerning EMS liscensure. I could not find anything specifically stating what punishment is applicable to any who violates the provision of the code, however, I would assume a revokeation of liscensure/certification would be the minimum they could impose.
Interesting though that, by my interpretation, it prohibits LEOs from carrying if working for the EMS angency (i.e. not in an authorized le capacity).
I've tried to figure out if they could throw me in jail for carrying while working on an ambulance...not that I choose to test it.

Indeed indeed. Anonymity is not something guaranteed. Actually it's pretty simple to figure out who people are with the right resources. SO, if you carry at work don't say "I'm so and so, and I work for Bob's Trinket Company, and I carry a Jimenz .25 on my ankle 24/7, even at work!"
Instead say, "I don't carry at work, but if I did I'd be damn sure no one ever knew."Selling off a a sizeable Spyderco collection here

Re: can i carry at work?
All of this makes me feel very good about working for a small, privately-owned company. I carry concealed 100% of the day, 100% of work days, and even mentioned to the owner a few years ago that I was taking half a day's vacation to drive to the Sheriff's office to file for an LTCF.
There's never been an issue, and it's always concealed, but neither the owner nor any of the other employees have brought up any concerns at all. Everyone seems very gun-friendly where I work.
My other job, which I work part time on weekends, even has a paragraph in the employee manual that warns about no guns on the premises. I can't carry there, and it feels wrong, but I tolerate it (the money's good). It sucks, but if there would ever be a gun-related incident there, even if no one got injured, the PR could be devastating. No, there's nothing stopping anyone from carrying in whatever they feel like carrying in and doing whatever they feel like doing, so self-defense flies right out the window there.

Re: can i carry at work?
This hits very close to home for me today. I'm currently on temporary assignment at the company who took over production when my former employer closed it's doors.
I heard ('through the grapevine') that two employees were terminated and escorted off of the property yesterday. Reportedly, they had their hunting rifles in their vehicles while parked on company property.
I don't know specifics, but it's also rumored that the firearms were not visible, so it's believed that someone else alleged the presence of the weapons. I haven't heard if they admitted the presence of the weapons or consented to a search, but the bottom line is that (presumably) two folks lost their jobs over what would seem to be a benign technical violation of policy, without any confrontation or threats of violence occurring.
I'd like to know more about the details, but since only a small number of employees (the ones that also worked at my previous employer) know my history, I'm hesitant to publicly explore the details or seem 'interested' lest I place myself onto the radar as a potential violator.Get your "Guns Save Lives" stickers today!
