    Default Who got one today?

    I'll start!

Got this 7 point at 7:15 this morning. Saw him at around 7, about 90 yards away, but didn't have a shot, so I let him work his way through some brush and a few small hills until he was about 40 yards away. Confirmed that there were four on one side, and that he was a big deer(150 lbs field dressed) so I took the shot with my Remington 788 30-30, Which was handed down from my dad's uncle. He ran about 50 yards through a stream and started up the other side of the valley, and collapsed.

congrats... if by "one" you mean a cup of coffee on the way to the computer so I could work a 13+ hour day then I did!!!
The first vehicles normally on the scene of a crime are ambulances and police cruisers. If you are armed you have a chance to decide who gets transported in which vehicle, if you are not armed then that decision is made for you.

Be prepared, because someone else already is and no one knows their intent except them.

I got a small doe around 10:45 with my mossberg 500 12 ga. I also saw a small spike buck in an area that had more scrapes then i have ever seen i suspect it was not from him. Maybe I'll go back out later today to see if I can find the one responsible for the scrapes.

Maybe not a 13 hour day but unfortunately I'm in your situation. I just hope they aren't all scared off my cousin's farm by Saturday.

I just woke up. So, I haven't got much of anything yet. Working night shift sucks, I was just too tired to stay up the few hours until sunrise. Tommorow it's going down though!

Bagged a huge doe about 10am. After watching at least 12 nice doe pass me by I could hold back any longer. Going back out in a couple minutes to see if I can add a buck to the list. EDR

A clean miss is always better then a poor hit. Good luck with future shots
