    Default New 1911 from Springfield?

    http://www.springfield-armory.com/19...ngeOfficer.htm

I've been looking for my first 1911 for about 4 months. This just caught my attention.
New model called the "Range Officer". Looks like a dressed down loaded in a matte finish. This is tempting to buy.

Anybody had one of these in their hand? I saw one for $679.00 shipped. The guy is even throwing in an extra mag for a total of 3.
I love the smell of gunpowder in the morning.[

I recently purchased one of the Range Officer's for competition use. It is a real nice pistol-great trigger for the price. Slide to frame fit is tight. If you have one with S/N beginning with NM it has been handfitted in the USA. Only thing I don't like about it is the very short mag release and that is going to be fixed very soon with an extended mag release from Wilson.

For what it's worth, mine is assenbled in the US. I'm glad to hear it has a decent trigger. I tend to leave my guns stock out of the box. If need be, one of the bullseye shooters at the club can fix that for me. I need to learn more about the 1911's before I would mess around with it.
About all I can see mine getting is some sort of small red dot or some other form of optical sights later on. My eyes aint what they use to be....

Should be here the end of the week. My first 1911 and first .45. My wife asked me, "is this it, you have enough now?" I said "ah, yeah this should be it".

When are you going to DCF&S to break it in, as I'd like to meet you? I live right around the corner from there.

edit: Your nose is growing,,,,,, it's not your last 1911. We should take this to PM, I guess.....
