Default 4th Gen Glock owners SOUND OFF!

Didn't see a thread for this so I figured I'd start one.

I've heard conflicting reports from people about the reliability of these things. Lots of stuff on the internet gets taken as gospel so lets hear from the people actually shooting the things.

How are your Gen 4's running?

    ETA.

If you have time please let us know your model, how many rounds through it, ect. It would be beneficial to see if a certain model/caliber is more problematic than others. Thanks.

Also interested, but if you're voting anything but flawless, can you please note whether you are using the most current recoil spring assembly?

With stock 03 spring and 115 gr ammo:

Perfection! I had a ton of malfunctions in the first 50 rounds, but they seemed to start to go away with more shooting. I don't want a gun that has to be broken in.

Just got the new Glock 04 spring which Glock says will help, but haven't had time to try it yet.

G23 Gen4. Couldn't be happier. Not a single malfunction and no update needed.

It should fix it, but Glock really should have got the spring weights down before that gun left the factory. Unfortunately, the gen4 will probably have a stigma of being less reliable long after the initial issues are fixed.

People voting flawless should probably also note what model they are using as the 40 cal models seem to be sprung correctly

With the 03 spring in gen 4 g19, we get occasional jams using 115 FMJ of any brand.

Using a very tight grip, the gun will run 100%. With my wife shooting it'll fail to feed 2 or 3 times per 50. She can shoot a gen 3 gun with absolutely no problems.

Runs 100% with 115 critical defense, and 147 grain hydra shock ammo with either me or her shooting.

I still haven't gotten an 04 spring, too lazy to call.

the problem is you wont know how many rounds anyone who responds in your poll has shot.

I was in a course where we shot 1k rounds, and the guy there with a 4th Gen G19 had more than a couple malfs.

You also dont know from your poll what model. The G19's seem to be the worst. The changes they made where specifiacally to adress issues with the 40SW models, and the 4th gen G22's seem to run fine from what I have heard.

Its not internet rumor, and even if a bunch of guys who have only shot a couple hundred rounds all repond that they are flawless in an unspecified model (which they might) it still wont change the mutiple new springs or other changes they have made to the gun without fanfare.

This is correct. Hopefully those that hit the poll will chime in with model, round counts, and type of ammo.

I'm curious to see how the 9's do compared to the .40's

I don't know if im the only one here but I prefer the look and feel of the Gen 3's . The grip on the Gen 4's to me feel cheap. I may just not be used to it
but the 3's appeal to me more. Does anyone know how I can get some of the {copper lube } Vel-Pro that Glock ships the gun with ?
On my model 19 I cleaned it out thinking it was copper residue. Having owned a Glock years ago they didn't come with the lube and I didn't bother reading the manual thinking there was no change. Well there wasn't except the copper lube ! Anyone ??
