I'm new here and I was thinking about visiting the Tobyhanna range with a friend. We're both firearms owners from NJ (wait! don't stop reading! lol) looking for some room to stretch our l̶e̶g̶s guns out (we usually go to crowded indoor ranges that max out at 50 yards). I thought it would be good to check in with the fine locals here to see if anybody would like to meet up. We want to do our best to be considerate and not be muzzle sweeping out-of-state asshats.

We are thinking about early morning Saturday 11/11.

If nobody is available, what are some things we can do to make sure we fit in, aside from the usual range safety rules? From my reading, I understand there's a 3 round limit for rifles and 6 round limit for pistols, and no garbage bin so bring a trash bag. Anything else we should be mindful of? I'll definitely see myself to the last lane if the distance between lanes are not ideal for muzzle brake concussion.

If anybody is curious I'm looking to shoot my AR-15, Ruger 10/22 and my brand new CZ Scorpion carbine.

Thanks in advance to everyone here!

Just know the rules (which it appears you do) and follow them. Watch for others doing the same. And have fun.

Welcome to both the forum and the range.

There are big signs on both sides of the parking lot with the rules. Watch out for the brassholes.

Go as early morning as you possibly can... usually a plethora of jackassery goes on at that range on the weekends

Picked up a Firestorm 380 for the wife recoil from 38 & 9mm is hurting her arthritis in her thumbs so this was the next step down to being able to spend more time shooting with a newer defensive firearm. Training time is what I want to accomplish mostly even thought in a stress situation she will grab the biggest badest firearm in the house. So range time possibly Monday or Tuesday if the range survives this Tropical storm. How great it would be if they erected an shelter over the range shooting posts just like they had a long time ago at Paradise shooting Range ! see you there if you can make it ! It's a possibility. I'll try to get there...guessing 10 or 11 am if things work out either or both days.

I wonder if this is the same guy whom wanders over the the SGL range in Suscon, Luzerne County? I was at Suscon this past weekend and some guys were talking about a brass scavenger.

Some old guy and a lady who is honestly worse. She'll walk past the firing line and start taking brass. Warned her twice and said if she tries to cross my line again I'm not gonna stop shooting
