Exceptions to this new permit requirement are those 15 years of age and younger properly accompanied by a licensed or permitted person 18 years of age or older. Each licensed hunter or range permit holder may have one guest.
Well that sucks BIG TIME ... I thought an LTCF counted as a permit.

nah, this is to control the type of people using the range <assumed> and to bring in more funding to maintain state lands from non-hunters using the range <as stated on the site somewhere>

the ltcf is not part of fish & wildlife, so they don't get any of that pie.

quick google search, images sgl 127, brings up that link and shows the existing seating/rests. the target things are a vinyl now.

it's not covered as i've seen at least one of the sgl's are.

    41.170538,-75.443641 :lat/long for the range.

Edit: if you go tomorrow, if you could, please post what time you went and how crowded it was, i've been fearing going on a weekend, don't want to queue up for a lane.

Editedit: how do we find if the range has been closed or reserved? without driving down. any online indicator, automated phone number?

I think the new rules are great! since the implimentation of the rules the amount of pumpkin heads has dropped greatly, there were a couple of polish/russian guys there right after the new rules and psg cops had just given them a bunch of tickets, they were telling me that 3 others were given tickets and told to leave because they had no permits, the russian guys that got the tickets that i was talking to stayed because they had permits, its less crowded, there is less damage, and way less rambo-gangster types,i go there about once a week, some weekdays after work i am the only guy there.

My girls and I hit this range last monday evening from about 1630 to about 1800 or so. There was one guy and his son at the rifle range and no one at the pistol range but the three of us. It was really nice!!

I set the girls up at the middle 10 yard lane. I took the rightmost 10 yard and the leftmost 25 yard lanes and alternated.

The girls ran through a box of 50 .22 rounds (not much, but it takes some time w/ a single shot) and I ran about 175 rounds through the new CZ 75 compact and another 30-40 rounds through the PF9.

As the OP I would like to thank everyone for reporting back to the forum. I haven't been there much lately myself but I do keep up on this thread and it's nice to know that things are going well over there. It's also refreshing to hear that the permit process has thinned out many of the miscreants. Too bad we all get punished for the idiots who destroy the place. Hopefully they've been mostly chased away.

One reminder for those of you who have been using a hunting license for a permit: hunting licenses expired on July 1st - time to renew if you haven't already.

Regards to all and keep the reports coming...
