Re: Tobyhanna SGL Range Reports
it doesn't state specifically in the regulations i read, but the pistol area is called such and has different ammo restriction, so i assumed.
hell, it wouldn't be the first time i was wrong. i apologize.
we are in agreement that you're supposed to be behind the firing line when your shooting though, right? There is no way to make it out alive...

Re: Tobyhanna SGL Range Reports
I haven't seen this ammo restriction you speak of. The only ammo restriction I've seen is where it states single projecticle catridges must be used, ie slugs, and that "shot" is prohibited. IIRC there is no mention of being restricted to using slugs on the longer ranges.
The regulations board also states people may only fire from the firing line/station. So how does that explain the bazillion shot shells you walk on top of when going to hang a target? My guess is everyone and someone they know owns a shotgun, PA, NJ, NY, etc, and so they go to the range to shoot targets from 5 feet away with buckshot..

the restriction i speak of is the capacity limit.
"(6) Possess, load or discharge a firearm that contains more than three rounds of single projectile ammunition, except as provided in subsection (c)."
" (c) Exceptions for a handgun range. At a Commission range specifically designated as a handgun range, it is permitted for an individual to load and discharge a handgun containing a maximum of six rounds of single projectile ammunition at any one time. Other rules and regulations pertaining to shooting ranges under Commission ownership, lease or jurisdiction shall be in effect."
"(7) Shoot clay birds anywhere except areas designated by the Director by signs stating that clay bird shooting is permitted."
^^something else you see midway on the range, people been shooting clays they seem to attach to the top rail of the target frame. in the 10/25 area.
i've got a rake in my car, might clean up a bit next time i'm down there, depends on if it's empty or not. There is no way to make it out alive...

Re: Tobyhanna SGL Range Reports
You can shoot slugs at the 25 yard "pistol range" but no shot , heck i have even seen a lady shooting a .22 at the 10 yard line and the WCO didnt say anything about it and he were standing right beside me.
And Yes all the rules are posted , single projectiles only , 6 rounds max in Pistols, 3 rounds max in Rifles/shotguns, and the WCO will ask to see your Magazines to make sure you are complying.
