Fundraising Success
I have seen a few people asking for money for legal defense or promoting a site that requests funds. Also, I have seen people hosting events such as group shoots or selling items to raise money.
Which has been more successful? Requesting donations or fund-raising events?

Re: Fundraising Success
For me personally I have found that asking for pocket change outside shops and ranges "because I have 3 daughters in college and no money for ammo" has been a bonanza. "Will work for .22, .22mag, .25 acp, .32s&w long, .38, 9mm, .45 ball, .410, 20g, 12g, reloading supplies and equipment" has been less effective.
But as for your question, I have no idea. I've never seen a breakdown of donations/contributions and don't feel any need to do so. I trust those who have run these various charitible enterprises to be honest. Any mismanagment or misappropriations will come to light easily enough but I don't think that is what motivates any of them for being honest, but rather it is their nature to be honest. When the SHTF......be the fan.

Re: Fundraising Success
Personally, I've given both ways but a lot of people can't. I know that if my funds aren't where I would like I would be more apt to give if/when I got something in return.

Re: Fundraising Success
None of the threads you've provided links for were initiated by, endorsed by, or connected to PAFOA in any way. Information about them was merely relayed by use of this forum. PAFOA had no contact with those monies at any point, and the efforts were not meant to raise funds for the PAFOA organization, so exactly how would the comparison you believe to be so obvious be made?
