Default New to shooting, looking for a good range.

Hey all I live in Pittsburgh and new to the shooting game. Any suggestions on a good range? I've had enough of the Wexford gamelands, too many knuckleheads and people calling clear ever five minutes.

To be honest I am looking for a place I can shoot in peace and sight in my rifles.

    Thanks
    Don

What part of Pittsburgh are you in? There are a few clubs around that usually don't draw big crowds. Just depends what you need or want. CDSC comes to mind as a good place to sight-in in peace: http://www.cdsc.us/

You might want to check out the Dormont/Mt. Lebo Sportsmen's club. In spite of the name the ranges are located near McMurray on Linden Ave. The ranges are nice with a pistol, rifle, bench rest and plinking. Costs $75.00 per year and worth every penny.

    +1 one on this.
After checking out several clubs in my region, I opted to drive a little further for this club. I've been a member for several months now and will be renewing for next year.

I'm a member here also and it is a great place to shoot.

As far as shooting from the holster, the rule here is you can draw...pause...then shoot, but not draw then shoot....

Library Sportsmen's is a FUDD club with FUDD rules - indoor range, max. 5 rounds loaded for a pistol, 1 round for a rimfire rifle. Outdoor rifle range is max. 1 round loaded for rifles.
