    Default 22 Long CB

    I accidently bought a box of 22 Long CB instead of 22 Long Rifle. Can I use this round in a Browning Buckmark or a H&R revolver chambered for 22 LR or did I just throw away $4 ?

    The revolver will be fine. I don't know about the Buckmark.

    It might not cycle, but they will shoot. You just have to pull the slide every time. It would be good for practicing your trigger control.

    Page 12 of the owners manual says to not use 22 short or 22 long. http://media.browning.com/pdf/om/08_...ark_pistol.pdf

    22 long has a different case than 22 long rifle.

    This is where having a .22 rifle that accepts .22 S, L and LR comes in handy.

    A long's case is exactly the same as a long rifle. What makes a Long Rifle over a Long is the 40gr bullet, where as the long uses the same lighter-weight bullet as a short.

    The reasons why Browning says not to use Shorts and Longs in the Buckmark is;

    1. it wont cycle the gun
    2. it will result in buildup of crud with prolonged usage.

    ======

    The CB Longs will shoot fine in any handgun. Although it will not cycle a semi-auto. I wouldn't shoot them in a rifle because there may not be enough pressure to get the projectile out the barrel.

    It is perfectly ok to shoot in your Browning, IT WILL NOT CYCLE the action though, no CB will , CB is made to be low powered quiet ammunition, it is loaded lihght. They are perfect for shooting off the back deck , controlling pests etc. They are a hot seller, i'm surprised that you acxtually found some. My Walmart hasnt got any in years..

    Enjoy them. Or sell them to someone who has a Pest Control problem.
