Last week-end I saw a simular setup with tennis balls on strings as targets. They sure took a beating with all kinds of calibers. The guy told me the balls sometime capture 22 bullets.

    Talking Re: Homemade Swinging Targets

I put the targets through hell over thanksgiving weekend! They held up great under pistol fire, 22 though 45. 223 on the other hand put a hurting on the 3/8 steel plate! My AR was punching holes almost through the plates. I'm certain with steel core ammo I would get all the way through.

I have a couple of boxes of bowling pins that would look great hanging from that set up!

    Wink Re: Homemade Swinging Targets

The tennis ball idea does sound pretty cool. I'm gonna tie some on in between my metal targets at different heights and see how they hold up. I got a ton of pics of the shotup plates, but my wife forgot to pack the camera when we left so I'll post them when i retrieve my camera after the holidays. I'm gonna start building a target similar to the viking tactics ones on troy industries website. Prolly gonna copy the silouette with double lolipops.http://troyind.com/%20/viking-tactic...e-lolli-popper If i can get the time to get it done I'll post some pics.

I like to shoot up tennis balls and baseballs, much more fun to hit them on the swing
