good 9mm 1911?
Ok, I love 1911s and that's obvious. we all seem to, because they are awesome [/debate]
anyway, Since I have really enjoyed my 45 acps and my 22, i'm wondering if there's a decent 1911 in 9mm luger I could play around with. would love to find one that runs pretty well and is accurate enough (don't need one inch at 25 yards or whatever) but I think this would be fun to train and shoot at informal steel matches and the like.
anybody have any experience with these?

Only experience I have is with my Springfield EMP 9mm. Might be the best damn gun I've ever owned or fired. Save up your pennies & invest in one of these little jewels.

I have a Kimber Tact Pro that works quite nice. I have been looking around STI's webpage for a full size to bring home. Have a look there.
ETA: Was just scrolling through the classifieds and there's 2 9mm 1911s for sale.Last edited by clarion44; November 17th, 2010 at 06:24 PM.

yeah, i saw the classifieds and that's what got me wondering... don't want to jump in and get the wrong thing and ruin my foray into 9mm 1911s.

Re: good 9mm 1911?
I think Shawn is selling his after transitioning to a P30 for 9mm and he already has a Wilson in .45. I know his gun ran and looks to be a very good value on a difficult 1911 to find. I would buy with confidence.
I normally recommend against 1911's in 9mm but on this occasion I know his ran so I have no reservations recommending it.

The Smith and Wesson Pro Series 1911 in 9mm in fantastic. I spent some trigger time with one not too long ago and it was lust at first 10 ring strike. These can be found used for a bit less then a grand.
