Ranges near West Chester, Pa
Hey guys/gals
New to the area and looking for a place to shoot my pistol (Glock 21). Would be nice if they have rentals too so that I can try other guns. I have searched around and haven't found much.
I've gone to Targetmaster in Chadds Ford a couple times. I enjoyed it there, but there are no outdoor ranges. Would be nice if they had some outdoor options.
Saw West Chester Gun Club which is more of a trap club.... not what I'm looking for.
Saw a couple websites for a place in Kennett Square (Southern Chester County Sportsmen's and Farmers Assc) and another one in Oaks (Lower Providence Rod and Gun Club) which looked perfect but was hoping to find a closer option.
Anyway... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Ranges near West Chester, Pa
Im a memebr at kimberton fish and game in phoenixville which is all out doors and nobody ever there. Last i checked, they were taking any new memebers and you have to be sponsored. Renewals are up soon so ill look into it for you. As far as pistols go, ive been known to fire off a few rounds in my basement when im bored lol.
heres a link to the website.

I joined the Southern Chester County Sportsmen's and Farmers Assc at the end of the summer. It's not too far of a drive from West Chester. Just take 926 about 10-15 mins west and you're there. The ranges are empty during the week and not bad on the week ends. Ranges from 15-100 yards as I'm sure you saw on the website. The people I have encountered are all friendly.
The downside is the neighbors. If you fire off a shot 1 minute past range hours they will call the police, although my understanding is that the club was there first.

Re: Ranges near West Chester, Pa
I was a member at Lower Providence.... It was ok I guess. They do have an indoor pistol range, but I left becuase of the rules for the rifle range.
They were splitting days and using it as an outdoor pistol range as well. I'd go in wanting to shoot my rifle, but couldn't be cause it was designated a pistol day. Pissed me off, so I didn't renew.
I went to Kimberton and have been happy ever since. Plus it's closer for me. Much closer.Μολὼν λάβε

Looks like Kimberton is a club/association. So... am I right in assuming that they don't offer rentals? I'd like to get back into rifles, but unfortunately finances make it difficult to buy one at this time. Would be great if they had rentals.

Even better, maybe you can participate in one of the monthly Garand matches there, open to the public. They have loaner M1's. You'd be able to shoot a Garand, meet Andy and other members, and qualify for a CMP certificate to boot. Good deal. Andy could sponsor you.
There's only one match left for the year though before the long winter break. Matches resume in April.
