Has anyone seen 'TheArmedCitizen' youtube channel?
I read a lot of 'what if' and 'could i draw' threads on the site, and the youtube channel shows tons of situations of just pulled or even firing and they go ahead to tell if charges we're filed or not. Figured it'd be neat to see all sorts of real life examples that LEO's agreed with.
The one video shows how rediculous police really are, at 1:47, "now police don't suggest taking your life into your own hands"...how wrong does that even sound

yeah, i love how the police recommend to not take matters into your own hands and just give up the money. I bet its because the cops are the ones holding people up at the atm

Yes SouthPhilly I love the old Lady with the old 22 that the cops showed her how reload it =)
No No No remember to be a good witness you are better off giving up the property and providing police with a good detailed description. Give up your property and save yourself any kind of harm.

Re: Has anyone seen 'TheArmedCitizen' youtube channel?
After watching a lot of these videos it seems a lot of suspects were shot upon entering someone's home but no charges were filed against the home owner.
My initial question is in PA this would be illegal would it not. My understanding is I need to retreat to the furthest point and if pursued and my life in danger I can only then protect myself. Am I correct here?
In other words if someone breaks in and does not attack me I can not do anything even if they are robbing me blind. This is my understanding of PA law currently.
From what I could tell it seems like a lot of these videos were in Phila. but yet the home owners were not charged.
Any thoughts on how you would react to someone breaking your door down?

Technically wouldn't you be charged with murder? I often struggle with this question with the way the laws are in PA.
If you weren't under an immediate lethal threat and if you didn't try to get away or retreat, from my interpretation you would be criminally charged.
Is my interpretation correct? If it is it really sucks.

Re: Has anyone seen 'TheArmedCitizen' youtube channel?
A police officer, instructing a handgun safety course I was attending on the PA law of self defense, said that he would not answer any "what if" questions, but, after hearing how you are not allowed to defend you, your family, or your home, if the perp is not using deadly force, I had to ask . . . .
What if any number of large unarmed intruders came into my home, and very politely began loading up on my TV, computer, jewlery, kids toys, etc.? His reply was very matter of fact . . . . call the police and do nothing on your own. As long as they did not use "deadly" force, I could not use a weapon to stop them. They could, very gently, but forcefully, restrain me (just have some big guy sit on me and hold my arms), and, as long as no one's life is in jeapordy, I could not respond with any greater force than what I could produce with my body alone.
Sounds pretty stupid to me.

I'm a subscriber to the channel. I think I watched every one.
