    Default opinions on phoenix HP22

What do you guys and gals think of the phoenix HP22? I know they are not a high class pistol but do they function ok? I'm thinking of getting one for a cheap plinker and only for that.

my honest opinion is that they are great for the price. Even the short barrell is plenty accurate enough for plinking. They are heavy, built like a tank, and last forever. I dont own one but i hot the crap out of my friends. Actually two of them own thm with no complaints. I wouldnt hesitate to pick one up.

If I get one its gonna replace my Jennings j-22 as a plinker so it should be an upgrade. The j-22 has seen better days and yes I know it was never a good gun to begin with.

I've owned one since the mid 90's - It's been a Great plinker, The rudunant Safety controls are a pain in the ass sometimes, But mine has never ever malfunctioned once, In fact I was just given a nickel finished one last week that I don't even think it's ever been fired. I'll have to try and correct that.

    Get one and enjoy it.

I haven't, nor do I know anybody that has. But I imagine it's possible, I own a Walther P22 that utilizes a Zinc cast slide, they have also been known to be prone to cracking.

Given the cost though, it's almost a throw away gun.

True they are cheap which is why I'm looking into one. I read online that they will make good if the frame or slide cracks. They supposedly recommend not using high velocity ammo to avoid the frame crack. Guess its thin near top of mag and that's where they are said to crack. Oddly its all over online but no pics of it to be found. I've seen tons of pics of broken and cracked cheap guns but never any of a phoenix.

I bought a used Phoenix HP22 range kit which comes with both the 3" & 5" barrel.
Has been a fantastic lil plinker.
With the 3" barrel it makes a nice pocket gun.
Cheap, accurate and fun to shoot. Mine Eats any bulk ammo with no problems

The mag safety is the only safety I don't like which can be removed in 5 min.

Mine and my friends hasn't cracked and if by chance the frame cracks Phoenix arms would replace it since it comes with a lifetime warranty. Their customer service is fantastic.
Sent me new slide springs for free and I'm not the original owner.

Not a bad pocket 22LR pistol its setup fairly nice and feels good in hand. It is a nice plinker and fishing pistol for snakes and turtles. It is relativelyu accurate and fast shooting, For the money it is a good little pistol.
I have big hands and she still fit, sites are not bad for such a small pistol.
