Default Can you limp wrist a semi auto shotgun?

I was at the range today shooting my SPAS 12 shot gun. In semi auto mode from the shoulder it ran fine. I pulled the trigger as fast as I could and it worked fine. I then put the stock hook around my arm to shoot one handed and it would not cycle every time. The empty shell would fail to eject all the way and get hung up in the ejection port like a stove pipe except horizontal.
So I got to thinking that I was kind of limp wristing when shooting one handed! Maybe I have answerd my own question however I would like to know what other think. Thanks!

Yes you can. I've seen some semi's at the trap range that won't cycle if you don't have them firmly pulled into your shoulder.

Keep it tucked in to your shoulder and you wont have an issue. But yes you most defiantly can.

Shooting tucked under the shoulder doesn't work reliably for me. I just have to mount it to the shoulder and take the pounding.
