handgun hunting
I'd like to get a .44 but may have to settle for a .357 on cost reasons. So with that said I may not hunt a whole lot solely with the .357 but I guess it is legal to carry it along with my rifle during the season as well as in archery?

If you dont have a CCW,you will need a sportsman handgun permit.to carry your revolver while hunting.

Re: handgun hunting
To carry openly or concealed during archery or muzzleloader you will need a LTCF.
To open carry during any other season you dont need any license/permit - UNLESS you transport it in a vehicle, then you will need either the LTCF or Sportsmans Permit.
With a SP, you can conceal during non-archery/muzzleloader season while hunting/fishing/trapping/dog training.
