Default I'm still laughing over this one.

Decided to run down to the local convenience store for a pack of smokes (I know, and I have no plans of quitting any time soon). Forgot that for some reason now, kids are being let out of jail school much earlier than I was back then.

I walk in, decide to grab a bag of chips to munch on as well.

I get in line (not a very long one). And I hear this whispering sound from behind the coffee machine behind me. Then, I hear a not quite so faint "oh my god, really?"

Sure enough, four girls, I would say between the age of 15-17 came around, glanced at me, and imediatly looked away. I glanced over and said "Yes ladies, it is real."

This seemed to have an adverse affect to their brains. All at once, they started giggling. Then, the "leader" of the group stood up straight, hands on her hips. "Why do you carry that?" I then replied that to date, I have yet to find a cop that will fit in my holster."

This got a few more giggles from the girls behind her.

"Well, I just think you are trying to scare people like that." At this, I took some offense. Not too much though, I bet it comes from living under the roof of some gun hating loony. "Well, if I was trying to scare you, I would be wearing a mask and costume, like I was the other day for handing out candy."

"Well, I just think it is stupid to carry like that." At which point in time I asked her, if some big scary man wanted her purse, and her body, what she would rather have. A whistle, or a pistol. Her face showed she might have put some thought into it, and then she replied. "I would rather have a whistle, you can't shoot yourself in the foot with a whistle."

I opened my mouth, to reply that I had all of my toes still, and one of her friends spoke up. "Don't be a dumb bitch. He is right. I don't want some creep hurting me. I would rather have a way to protect myself."

At this point, I bite down on my tongue, trying not to laugh at the face this girl made.

The second girl then continued. "My dad has let me shoot his guns before, and I've never shot myself. Don't be so dumb." At this point, I gave the girl a high five. She then looked at me. "I'm thinking of buying one, now that I'm 18."

I almost corrected her before the first girl replied back, with a glare. "Shut up, you are only 16. Stop trying to impress him."

So, either younger ladies find me sexy. Or, some of the youth of today aren't incredibly stupid. I'm leaning towards the first one, these sideburns of mine are a work of art.

All in all, I got a laugh, some girl got shut down by her friend, and I got my smokes.

But I am still sitting here chuckling about it, just remembering that face.
I'm so fast, I can bump fire a bolt action.

LOL... well played, rep sent. Thanks for sharing this one, I really needed that chuckle.
While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

I too, think that my sideburns are a work of art.

Sadly, I think my generation is as dumb as you fear...

They're still young; give them time. Their brains are still developing. It sounds like some in that group have developed more than others.
