hunting black bear with 44 mag pistol

i have a 44 mag pistol with 8 3/8 inch barrel i want use it for the upcoming bear season any suggestions on best ammo that will give me the best results

I hunt with a scoped Ruger SRH, but I use my handloads which are either 240 or 300gr XTP's.

I don't hunt bear, but if I did I would use the same load as deer.
240-250gr HC LSWC over 22grains of 2400. "Keith" load.
Incredibly accurate out of my 8-3/8" scoped, 6" and 4" model 29's. And the LSWC will give more than acceptable expansion in a thick bodied animal like bear and plenty of penetration. IMO, it's the only load I need in the 44 for big game.

Shot one on Maine a few years back with my .44. Used Honandy 300 XTP's. She ran approx. 30 yards and expired! Live weight approx. 300 lbs.

If you don't reload I'd look at Buffalo Bore, they have a bunch of different types of 44 mag.
