Re: What do you take with you when you go hunting?
may miss one or two things but:
Cell Phone
Flashlight
Head lamp
3 extra AAA batteries
GPS (sometimes)
Range finder w/ 4x mag (archery) - Binocs (rifle)
Grunt tube
Bleet Can (Medium doe)
folding saw
folding knife w/ gut hook
leatherman (in my pocket)
2 pair latex gloves
trash bag (depending on where I'm hunting, if I have to take the guts with me)
Hooks to hang my bow/ bag up
Pull up rope
Safety rope that I also use as drag rope
safety harness (worn)
Archery gloves / fingerless gloves
release
and then depending on weather, possibly more clothing / coat... etcThe first vehicles normally on the scene of a crime are ambulances and police cruisers. If you are armed you have a chance to decide who gets transported in which vehicle, if you are not armed then that decision is made for you.
Be prepared, because someone else already is and no one knows their intent except them.

Re: What do you take with you when you go hunting?
It all depends on where I'm going, what I'm going for and how long I plan on being out.
Usually I'm hunting locally for small game and I bring very little.
In my backpack you will generally find the following:
First-aid kit, including quick clot gauze for gunshot wounds
Whistle
Seat/Cushion
Drag Rope
Knife
Thermos with something hot in it
Water
Cloth bag for smaller game
Headlamp with extra batteries
When I'm out for a long period of time or in a place I'm unfamiliar with I bring the following additional items:
Compass
Maps
Food
Emergency Blanket
Matches
Toilet Paper
Of course weather plays a part as well.
Hand warmers, extra socks, gloves etc...
I probably have more little things in there that I can't remember right now...

I also carry baby wipes for washing my hands, and for the occasional times when tp just isn't enough.

Re: What do you take with you when you go hunting?
I guess it's because I hunt around the farm and on the move a lot but I carry far less than the above posters.
Rifle with scope and sling or Redhawk
10 rounds of ammo
Fixed blade knife in belt sheath
Drag rope
Rubber band for tagging
Pen or pencil
Candy bars
Couple of paper towels
License and additional ID
If I'm hunting bear or grouse in bigger country, I'll add map and compass and sometimes lunch and fluids.
For small game,
Shotgun
10-15 rounds of ammo
Pocketknife
License
Candy bars
plastic bread/grocery bags
