refinishing my bps
i have a 20+ y.r old browning bps . i bought the gun new and it is like an old and dear friend and i shoot it well. the last few years i have been into duck hunting and she has earned the rust on her. whatever i do she is always getting slopped around. i have accepted this and now want to fix her and make her external parts impervious to the weather and the marsh.
gentlemen, and i use that term with no disrespect, i ask. what is the best method and product for obtaining that end?
thanks in advance, R.To err is human, to be prepared divine

You could also do finishes like Cerakote, Gunkote, Duracoat, etc that have all shown to protect the metal well.
I have some paintball markers that were duracoated several years ago and the finish has held up very well. I plan on sending out my 36 year old 870 wingmaster to get duracoated next week.
Duracoat has been tested in salt water and can withstand a salt bath...on the surfaces that is protected by Duracoat.
